Meet Millie Meadows

Hi There! I'm Millie Meadows

a mom, a farmer's wife, and a lifelong lover of nature.

Growing up, I was incredibly fortunate to explore large parts of Southern Africa. From open savannahs to winding rivers and quiet bushveld moments, those early adventures shaped who I am today. Being surrounded by wildlife sparked a deep respect and love for animals of all kinds big, small, shy, and misunderstood.

Today, I share my life with my amazing husband and our two wonderful children. Motherhood has changed the way I see the world, especially through the curious eyes of my kids. It was through reading to them that the idea for my books was born.

I wanted stories that worked for both of my children books I could cuddle up and read aloud to my youngest, while also creating stories my older child could confidently read on her own. Stories that were gentle, educational, and full of wonder.

Most of all, I wanted to help young readers learn about the incredible animals we share our home with here in Africa. Animals that deserve understanding, respect, and protection.

The illustrations in these books are especially close to my heart. They bring back vivid memories of my travels; the colours, the textures, the feeling of being small in a vast and beautiful landscape. Every page feels like a little journey, and I hope those images spark curiosity and imagination in your children too.

These stories are my way of passing on a love for nature, learning, and storytelling and I'm so excited to share many more adventures with you and your little readers.
